FROSTY FINGERS

I lived with Winter
A shivering existence
An insistence
Of unfeeling
Frozen, freezing limbs
Lips, legs and long walks
Never garner, guarantee
Warmth
Sensations of tee-shirt contentment
Forgotten fancy dress dreams
Skin saying hello to bare air

Winter eclipses her sisters
Stating she is the mighty one
One...two
Too many months
Of stolid weeks
Iced over days, nights
Winter's lifespan would end early
If I could find her stiff neck
I'd kill her
Frosty-fingered children
If  they try to run
Their ice-hands
Down my back
